Stay Negative
Over breakfast, I was
on a conference call with some clients. Usually, I am ready with numbers before
entering one of these, but the comfort of working from home did get the better
of me. The mute button helped curb the chewing sound and Simba’s snorts. (For
the record, dogs do snore the way we do, even louder :p) Whilst these used to be no BS
calls, we were now discussing everything but business. How
could there be an escaping-talk of the virus. It is hard to believe how big an
impact it has had on the world. My clients sit in Australia and their condition
seemed no different. As kids, we’re told at schools – “Little things can make
huge differences”, I wonder if corona virus attended one of those.

With 4,27,811 cases confirmed as positive globally and the number increasing with each passing day, we’re sitting at a 21-day national lockdown. Even in my worst dreams, I could not have imagined such a scenario. My brother tells - “It feels like Thanos has snapped his fingers again”. Well, maybe he is right. That’s how the deaths have been – ‘At random. Dispassionate; fair to rich and poor alike’ yet so very unfair to the world.
Now is the time for us
all to play the Avengers. The world has never been more united. We are all
asking the same questions and having the same discussions. We are all hoping
for a breakthrough in the fight against the coronavirus. And why won’t we? We
all have concerns for the welfare of our family and our communities.
As powerless as you
and I might be to tackle this outbreak, we can still contribute by taking the
necessary precautions and approaches to prevent this outbreak from damaging our
community. We can also save our social media environment by preventing the
spread of false information.
More and more leaders,
influencers and celebrities are spreading awareness and urging people to stay
at home. Our government’s proactiveness in this regard is also good to see. There is no hierarchy to doing what is
right. You and I can also be influencers by asking others around us to take
precautions, promote regular hand-washing and remote working.
With the number of
coronavirus positive cases increasing each passing day, don’t forget that this
too shall pass. Please –
STAY HOME. STAY SAFE.
STAY NEGATIVE.
