Matters of Perspective
B: “the tea was sugar free”
A & B came to these conclusions after taking sips from the same cup of tea.C then decided to unmask the liar by enquiring the cook. The cook avowed that the tea got sweetened unintentionally. It seemed clear that B was misstating but he kept claiming his veracity. How could the tea be both sugary and sugar free simultaneously? B was about to be jailed
.On further inquiry, it was disclosed that B was actually a chocoholic and had eaten a chocolate minutes before he drank the tea.He wasn’t lying, the tea actually seemed “sugar free” in his perspective. He was acquitted and lived happily ever after.
Life is a matter of perspective. We often develop perspectives based on our experiences ,which further evolve our decision making. Two people in a divergent set of circumstances may patently choose the opposite alternatives when offered the same.A person who is lost on an island will take any fat chance to get out of it while a person rowing a boat for days would be itching to step on land. Perspectives not only sway our choices but also cloud our judgements. For instance, If we believe that a woman cannot lead a group or a company then we are clouding our judgement on all women.
So, can our perspectives change our lives? Imagine we all are bespectacled beings, we just need “the right lens for the right sight”.A person who suffers a setback may either bewail his losses or start reasoning how his misfortune could turn into a blessing. Reformulating our perspectives in a positive direction will bring constructive changes to our lives making us happier, astute and successful whereas developing bad perspectives about someone or something will convene all pejorative thoughts in our mind whenever we encounter it.
Gopal, the protagonist in Chetan Bhagat’s blockbuster work “Revolution 2020” had a very ‘two – edged’ persona. Right at the climax when he asked “Do you think i am a good person, Chetan ji?”, the readers already had an opinion in their minds.Sometimes its strange how different people with different perspectives come up with different solutions and equally valid explanations for the same problem.
So is there anything like “the best perspective”? if there is, then do you have it?
Once upon a time, there were four friends who were extremely good singers, three of them had great camaraderie while one envied the others. One day, he intoxicated their drinks, which damaged their vocal chords and they lost their voices.Out of guilt he couldn’t sleep for months. He then decided to make amends, opened free schools for the “differently abled” poor kids, who could’ve never got such education without him and made 1000s of lives. Was he a good person? Was he a bad person?
He drugged three of his best friends, who had the same dreams as him, but couldn’t pursue them because of him, but saved lives of thousands of poor kids who could’ve ended living on streets and devoted his entire life to the service of the poor. Should he be punished or pardoned in the God’s Chancery? What’s your perspective?

Nice put up and truly fresh material. Loved it. And yes here is what i think about that guy.
ReplyDeleteWe may still call him a bad guy as he spoiled somebody's life out of jealousy. But then soon he regret for it and it Iakes a strong and great heart to apologize. Many people hide their sins for lifetime. Even we hide our small mistakes in daily life. Even if we confess we never think about making something beautiful for others. And i think This is enough to prove him a nice guy. Consider yourself as a poor kid or a homeless child, God gave them life but that guy made their lives worth living. Let's make it more fair. Those three people are not homeless they have good financial condition that they can make their lives better even without making their carriers in singing, which was impossible for those thousands of poor kids without that guy. And at last we can not satisfy people as it is a "matter of perspective".
Again, a very nice post!! kudos :)
Thanks for sharing your thoughts Ritu. Looking forward to your posts. :)
DeleteHey nice post :)
ReplyDeleteNd ya abt dat guy, i think in greed or in jealously every person commit mistakes nd so did he :/ But he is feeling guilty too nd moreover not everybody can devote their whole life to serve the poor. So i think he shud be pardoned
Thank you :)
DeleteVery nicely written!!!
ReplyDeleteAbout that person, well i think every bad work done by anyone have a reason behind it the person is never wrong but the reasons made him wrong. It was just jealousy which was with his friends which not only broke their friendships but also gave him a feeling a guilt for his whole life. And that three guys would also do the same ,had the same dream so there would be 3000 poors learning indeed of 1000 and his SORRY would not retrun voice of them its just like a terrorist who killed 100 of children and then say sorrt to there parents.....
thanks for sharing your opinion.... it was a distinct one indeed :)
